Claire Hua is a Junior pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design, set to graduate in 2027.

Her work explores the bond between storytelling and design, how both inform and challenge the other. Her work carries a playfully whimsical tone while carrying a certain undercurrent of eeriness, creating visual tensions and color combinations that subvert normality and invite viewers to linger, wonder, and reflect on their youth and adulthood. She builds immersive worlds inhabited by curious characters whose gestures and expressions speak on their own.

Much of her creative work is shaped by literature; myths, poems, and other stories.
